India as a country ranks highly in the field of education and students from around the globe come to India in search of better education and opportunities. India has managed to establish and successfully run world class institution like the IITs and IIMs along with a long list of many other esteemed institutions in the last 7 decades since independence. India also hosts several foreign students each year as they come to India for quality higher education.
However, when we talk of rural and semi urban India, the challenges we face as a country are great. Like any growing economy we have a disparity between the haves and have-nots. When it comes to the field of education the scenario is no different. While there is a growth in the number of people who receive primary education every year, the number of people who complete their high school education is relatively low.
Another problem that India faces is that the quality of education at different institution varies immensely. Hence the workforce that India generates every year isn’t completely work ready. We as a country need to work on developing skills which empower our students later in their respective work environments.
